Welcome to the Society

The Arts Society Dover, Deal & Sandwich brings local people together to deepen their knowledge and enjoyment of the arts. Membership also includes membership of the national organisation, The Arts Society, and an arts magazine published three times a year.

Our illustrated lectures cover a wide range of subjects and are delivered by expert professionals accredited by The Arts Society. We meet at the historic Guildhall, Cattle Market, Sandwich CT13 9AH, on the first Tuesday morning of each month, except July and August. Coffee is available from 10.15am. Please be seated by 10.50am for the lecture, which runs from 11.00am to noon, followed by a short question-and-answer session.

Our high-quality 2026–27 lecture programme is open to members of the public.

We generally hold Study Days during the year to explore individual subjects in greater depth. We also arrange Visits to exhibitions and places of interest, and Tours further afield in the UK and abroad.

Membership

New members are welcome. Our membership year runs from 1 November to 31 October. The fee for 2026/27 is £50 per person, payable by cash, cheque or bank transfer. See membership details for more information.

Guest Attendance

Car Parking

Sandwich has several car parks; see parking details. The Guildhall car park is the nearest, but parking is now limited to three hours. If it is full, try Gazen Salts or Quay car parks, both about a ten-minute walk from the Guildhall.
